FlashNAS is a robust, Intel-based 2U file server appliance that runs Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003. It enables easy deployment of FlashDisk RAID network attached storage (NAS) to multiple servers and hundreds of users over your existing LAN infrastructure. FlashNAS serves files to any Windows, Unix and Mac OS-X clients without added hardware/software or even rebooting these clients. To simplify management, FlashNAS has a web-based GUI; it offers 64 point-in-time snapshots per volume, user quotas, and file sharing with security for a Windows-centric environment.

FlashNAS model FN-2150 easily scales to over 40 Terabytes of FlashDisk RAID network attached storage. It supports all FlashDisk models: FlashDisk SATA RAID for low cost secondary network attached storage, cost effective FlashDisk SCSI RAID for high-performance primary storage, and FlashDisk Fibre Channel RAID for highest performance, scalability & availability. FlashNAS also supports any mix or all of these FlashDisk technologies.

Included functionality:
Shadow Copy Service	Restores deleted or corrupted files within minutes using Shadow Copy of shared folders. Stores up to 64 point-in-time copies per volume and provides the ability to recover previous versions of files.
Storage Manager	Optimize storage resources by setting quotas at volume, directory, and user levels. Also provides a File Filtering Service to enhance security and optimization of data. Storage usage reports are created to monitor resources.
Distributed File System	Build and manage a single, hierarchical view of multiple file servers. DFS simplifies management of data on multiple distributed servers and enables Windows Powered NAS software to automatically redirect users to data replicas in case data becomes unavailable. DFS provides replication and load balancing capabilities.
File and Print Serving	Deploy a dedicated network attached file server appliance to address growing storage requirements. Data protection features and support for multiple file protocols is an ideal solution for heterogeneous file serving. Integration with Active Directory services enables data security and ease of management.
