The FlashDisk RAID Enterprise Data Center models hold up to ten rackmount enclosures, each with eight disk drives of 4.55, 9.1 or 18.2 gigabytes each for a maximum capacity of 1.456 Tbytes (1,456 Gbytes). In addition, each rack offers two Ultra-SCSI host ports that separately or together support 40 Mbytes per second host data transfer rates that enable a cumulative data transfer rate of up to 400 Mbytes per second. Each array also supports up to 9,779 I/O operations per second for an astonishing 97,790 I/O operations per second total. This level of I/O capability can be used by a single server or up to 20 separate servers, depending upon the application. We wanted to offer an enterprise solution that truly could support an enterprise class operation, stated Joel Leider, the company's chief executive officer. FlashDisk Enterprise models offer up to 30 times the I/O performance of other enterprise offerings and thus is the enterprise solution of choice for those organizations running database, financial, imaging and manufacturing applications with high I/O demands on their servers. FlashDisk RAID includes remote alarm notification capability that automatically dials a designated pager if an error is reported. FlashDisk RAID systems come with on-site service included and 24x7 service upgrades, and four-hour response times, on-site spare parts are available. Customers report that their applications run two, three or even five times faster with FlashDisk RAID than with other disks and RAID arrays, according to Jerry Namery, Chief Technical Officer. This outstanding performance was the result of achieving our design goal to offer the highest performance RAID disk array for open systems, he added. FlashDisk is available for all popular mid-range servers including HP 9000, IBM RS/6000, SUN Sparc, Intel Pentium and Pentium PRO as well as Digital VAX and Alpha. A FlashDisk RAID rackmount enclosure, seven inches (4U) high, with eight 9.1 Gbyte drives costs $27,713. With eight 18.2-Gbytes drives the cost is $47,535 or only 33 cents per Mbyte. The Enterprise Data Center Cabinets are priced separately at $4,444 for a 38.5" cabinet with 22U capacity that holds up to five of the seven inch rackmount enclosures or $5,271 for the 82" cabinet with 42U of rack capacity that holds up to ten of the rackmount enclosures.
