Winchester Systems Announces a Large Scale SATA Disk Array
Support for 800 SATA Disks or 320 TB on a Single Disk Array System!

Burlington, MA. April 19, 2005. Winchester Systems, Inc., a leading data storage solutions company, today introduced a large scale SATA disk array targeted at data archiving applications.

"The SA-700 scales to an amazing 800 SATA disk drives and 320 TB of storage with 400 GB disks and 400 TB per system when 500 GB SATA drives are available, said Dave Geene, VP Sales & Marketing for Winchester Systems. "We are seeing more requirements for archiving petabytes of video and image data. With the availability of the SA-700, our customers will be able to manage up to 6.4 petabytes of data from a single management console".

"We have made it easier and more cost effective to manage large archives of data. This is especially useful in applications for archiving video content, in the media and communications industries as well as for security, surveillance and satellite imagery applications", stated Jan Sutton, Product Marketing Manager.

Included with every data storage solution is the FlashConsole appliance, providing complete centralized management using any browser-based workstation on the LAN. FlashAlert, a 24-hour "call-home" remote monitoring and alert service is also included for one year.
