has introduced
its ultra-high
performance FlashDisk
OpenRAID using
181 GB disk drives
to provide 1.45
TB in a single
enclosure.
FlashDisk
OpenRAID models
using 181 GB disk
drives are designed
for the most storage
hungry applications
including data
warehousing, data
acquisition systems,
near-line storage
replacements,
decision support
systems, video
and audio applications
plus major e-commerce,
financial, manufacturing
and database applications.

terabyte barrier
in a single box
has been broken
and now IT managers
can store virtually
all needed information
on-line at or
lower than the
cost of near line
storage, exclaimed

Multi-Terabyte
Capacity
Each FlashDisk
OpenRAID unit
holds 8 half-height
disk drives of
181 GB each to
store an unprecedented
1.45 TB. The FlashDisk
82" high Data
Center Cabinet
will hold 9 rackmount
units plus a UPS
to store over
13 TB in just
6 square feet
of floor space.
High
Performance
FlashDisk OpenRAID
not only stores
massive amounts
of data, it has
the speed to deliver
it to and from
host servers and
their applications
exceptionally
fast. FlashDisk
delivers up to
13,000 I/O operations
per second and
up to 121 Mbytes
per second sustained
data throughput
using two available
host posts. The
high random I/O
performance makes
FlashDisk OpenRAID
suitable for OLTP,
database, financial,
manufacturing
and other random
access applications.

for sequential
tasks such as
file copying,
report generation,
data collection,

which emulates
standard SCSI
disks --eliminating
proprietary host
software, RAID
managers and the
need for software
drivers or agents
of any kind. It
supports hardware
RAID 1, 3, 5,
1+0 and RAID 15
for data protection.
FlashDisk OpenRAID
attaches via industry
standard fibre
channel and SCSI
interfaces to
host servers including
SUN, HP, IBM and
Intel.

models are available
in rackmount and
pedestal configurations.
